RDW Export Certificate

The RDW export certificate (exportdocument) is the official Dutch document that proves your vehicle has been deregistered from the Dutch vehicle register (RDW) for export abroad. It is required for all vehicles leaving the Netherlands permanently and is issued by RDW-recognized export offices.

You can get an RDW export certificate at an RDW-recognized export office like Auto Export Document in Hengelo. Bring your vehicle registration documents (part I and II) and a valid ID. The document is ready within 15 minutes. No appointment needed.

You need: vehicle registration document part I and II (kentekencard and tenaamstellingsbewijs), valid ID (passport or driving license). For companies: also a Chamber of Commerce (KvK) extract. The vehicle itself does not need to be present for just the export document.

The export certificate costs €50. The complete export package including export insurance and export license plates costs €150. All prices include VAT with no hidden fees.

Yes, the RDW export certificate serves as both the export document and proof of discharge (bewijs van tenaamstelling). Once issued, the vehicle is removed from the Dutch registration system. Foreign authorities accept this document as proof of legal export from the Netherlands.

You need the original registration documents. Copies are not accepted. If you have lost your registration document, contact the RDW (0900-0739) first to obtain a replacement before visiting our office.
